Our obsession with deliciousness started right in the heart of Sydney’s Portuguese community in 1989. Our first Frango store opened in Petersham NSW, but our origins date back further, fusing the traditional charcoal cooking techniques of our Portuguese ancestors with the rich flavours of our Angolan heritage to create something wildly different and truly memorable.

Our Story

Our story spans many generations of the Fernandes family. Like most great stories, the best parts are often the ones that can’t be revealed. The Frango mystique is embedded in every hand-made batch of our famous chilli sauce. It’s hot, rich and creamy – try it once and you will be hooked. The recipe is a tightly held family secret so don’t ask us what goes in it… But if your curious, what we will say is that it is best enjoyed on our succulent charcoal chicken, generously dolloped on our irresistible burgers or as a dip for our crispy fries.
